The 12-part winter list
Hard winters expose every weak point in the fleet. Stock these before temperatures drop and you'll spend a lot less time chasing parts mid-route.
Heating & defrost
- Heater core hoses (upper and lower)
- Defroster blower motor and resistor
- Heater control valves
- Cabin air filters
Cold-start
- Block heater cords (always lose a few each season)
- Glow plugs / glow plug relays for diesel chassis
- Auxiliary fuel filters for biodiesel blends
Visibility
- Wiper blades sized for each chassis in the fleet
- Heated mirror elements
- Heated wiper park area for chassis that support it
Traction & safety
- Magnetic snow flag kits
Stocking strategy
Buy in pairs or quads - a single failure usually means the matched component on the other side is close behind. Pull and bench-test your winter spares each fall before you need them.
